Emails coaches actually read.
SignedU turns an athlete's real results, grades and goals into a coach email, recruiting bio and personal statement for every program on their list. Specific, ready to send, in minutes.
Coaches can spot a template in one line.
College coaches get hundreds of emails a week. The ones that sound copied get skipped. SignedU writes from the athlete's actual numbers and their actual reasons for each school.

Four steps to a full recruiting package.
About ten minutes the first time. Under two when you come back after a new result.
Build the athlete profile
Grad year, sport, position or event, club or school, GPA, results and a highlight video link. Add a line about the athlete as a person: a habit, a turning point, what they want to study.
The more real detail you give, the less generic the writing gets.
Add target programs
For each college, add the coach's name and why that program fits. Mention a major, a co-op, how the roster plays freshmen, the location. This is what makes each email different.
Generate the package
SignedU writes a coach email for each program, a third-person recruiting bio and a first-person personal statement. Pick the tone first: Confident, Warm or Brief.
My name is Lucía Ortega, a Class of 2028 women's épée fencer rated B2026…
Check, edit and send
The specifics check marks which real details made it into each piece. Anything missing is flagged, so you can add it by hand or ask for a revision. Then copy it and send from the athlete's own email.
Questions, answered.
Will coaches know I used a tool?
SignedU builds every email from the facts you give it, and no AI is involved, so the email reads like the athlete. You can edit every word before sending, and you send it from your own email account. It's a drafting tool, the same way a counselor or parent might help with a first draft.
Does it make anything up?
It's told never to invent results, stats, awards or facts about a college. The specifics check shows exactly which details from the profile were used. Always read the email before sending it.
Where do I find coach emails?
Type the college in the builder and click Find coach. It searches for that school's coaching staff page, which lists each coach's email. Write to the recruiting coordinator or the assistant who coaches your position, not only the head coach.
Why hasn't a coach replied?
NCAA rules stop most Division I coaches from replying until a set date, usually June 15 after sophomore year (some sports differ). They can still read your emails. Division II and III coaches can reply anytime. The builder shows your date once you pick a sport and grad year. Keep sending a short update every 3 to 4 weeks when you have news.
Which sports does it support?
All of them. Fencing, soccer, basketball, volleyball, track and field, swimming, baseball, softball, tennis, wrestling, lacrosse, football, golf and more. If your sport isn't listed, pick Other and describe your event.
Can it send emails for me?
Not yet. Copy the email into Gmail or any other email app and send it yourself, then click Mark as sent so the tracker can remind you to follow up. Sending drafts straight to Gmail is on the roadmap.
What happens to athlete data?
Profiles are visible only to you, and we never sell athlete data. SignedU is for athletes 13 and older, and if you're under 18 a parent or guardian should help you set it up. See the privacy policy for details.
Is it really free?
Yes. SignedU is free for every athlete. Families who can afford it can leave a small tip on the Support page to help cover the cost of running it.
Who makes SignedU?
SignedU is an independent product built in San Antonio, Texas.
Built by an athlete, for athletes.
SignedU helps high school athletes reach college coaches with emails that sound like them, not a template. No sales calls, no thousand-dollar packages.
Why SignedU exists
College coaches get hundreds of recruiting emails a week, and the generic ones get skipped. Most athletes don't know what a coach actually wants to see, so they copy a template or ask a chatbot and end up sounding like everyone else.
The other option is a recruiting service, and many of them cost families over a thousand dollars and come with a sales pitch.
SignedU sits in between. You answer a few questions, and it writes a different email for every school using your real results, your real reasons and the details coaches look for. You send it yourself, from your own inbox.
Épée fencer at Olympian Fencing Club in San Antonio, Texas, and the developer behind SignedU.
I've fenced épée at Olympian Fencing Club for years. This summer I finished 29th out of 338 fencers at USA Fencing Summer Nationals, and I started a fencing club at my school so more people could try the sport.
When my teammates and I started thinking about fencing in college, we all hit the same wall: nobody knew what to write to a coach. The templates sounded the same, and the recruiting services cost more than a whole season of tournaments.
So I built SignedU, the tool I wanted for myself. It's built on one idea I learned on the strip: the details win.

The short version
The athlete details you type stay in your own browser. They never reach our server. Our server only sees anonymous usage counts, feedback you choose to send, and the basic technical information every website receives.
What stays on your device
Everything you type into the package builder: the athlete's name, sport, results, GPA, video link, contact details, the colleges and coaches on your list, and the emails SignedU writes. SignedU writes your drafts right in your browser, and nothing you type is sent to an AI service. Saved athletes are stored in your browser. Use the Delete button, or clear your browser data, and they're gone. We can't see them, so we can't delete them for you.
What reaches our server
Usage counts. When someone visits or creates a package, we count it along with the sport, the writing voice and how many schools were listed. These counts never include names, contact details or anything you write. They're kept in memory and reset whenever our server restarts.
Feedback. If you rate a draft, we receive your rating, which piece you rated, the sport and voice, and any note you add (up to 500 characters). Please don't put names, emails or other personal details in a note. Feedback is kept in memory and in our server logs, and we delete it within 90 days.
Technical information. Like any website, our server receives your IP address and browser type with each request. We use IP addresses only to limit abuse, such as too many requests in a short time, and we don't use them to identify or track you.
Services we use
Render hosts SignedU. It runs our server and keeps short-term server logs, which can include IP addresses. Google Fonts delivers the fonts on our pages, so Google receives your IP address when a page loads. Tips, if you choose to leave one, are handled by a separate payment service on its own secure page. That service has its own privacy policy, and we never see or store card numbers. We don't use advertising or tracking tools of any kind.
What we never do
We never sell or rent your data, never show ads, and never email coaches for you. You send every email yourself.
Young athletes and parents
SignedU is for athletes 13 and older, and we ask you to confirm your age before you start. If you're under 18, use SignedU with a parent or guardian. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 sent us information, we'll delete it.
Parents and guardians can email us any time to ask what we hold about their teen or to have it deleted. Because athlete profiles live only on your family's device, you can also review or delete them yourself in the package builder.
Deleting your information
Email us and we'll delete any feedback or other information we hold about you within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
When we change how SignedU handles data, we'll update this page first, change the date at the top, and post a notice on the site for any big change.
